The Fullness of Time

But when the fullness of time came,

God sent forth His Son, born of a woman…

Galatians 4:4

God has proclaimed His love for the human race from the very dawning of time through priest, prophet, creation, and the written Word.  We have had a relatively difficult time, however, receiving those messages.  How can one love what one cannot see, touch or feel?

Finally, God sent forth His Son as a tiny baby, born on a starlit night in a cave outside of Bethlehem.  Love came down to mankind, wrapped in swaddling clothes and cradled in a manger.

*

Infant holy, infant lowly, for His bed a cattle stall.

Oxen lowing, little knowing, Christ the babe is Lord of all.

Swift are winging angels singing, noels ringing, tiding bringing,

Christ the babe is Lord of all.

Flocks were sleeping, shepherds keeping vigil till the morning new.

Saw the glory, heard the story, tidings of a gospel true.

Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow, praises voicing, greet the morrow:

Christ the babe was born for you.
