Mary's Answer

"I am the Lord's servant,Mary answered.

"May it be to me as you have said."

Then the angel left her.

Luke 1:38

What an amazing experience it would have been to have walked the streets of Nazareth during the time recorded in the book of Luke, with the possible opportunity to meet Mary.  We know so little of her, and yet everything that is recorded in the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke showcases a young girl of incredible maturity, responsibility, and devotion to God.

When confronted by a strange being who claimed to come from God, Mary had only a few moments to assess the situation and the words spoken.  She made the amazing decision to acquiesce - to accept the messenger and his message as the Lord's chosen path for her.  She did so with grace and dignity far beyond her years.  She would prove to be an amazing mother for the world's Messiah.
